Have you got a speedy new SSD, or even a brand new computer? Before you start re-downloading all your instruments, take a quick look at this guide. It’s easy to move instruments in Soundpaint!
Moving Instruments in Soundpaint
STEP 1: Copy your instruments to your desired location on the new drive using Finder (Mac) or File Explorer (Windows).
We recommend making a folder specifically for Soundpaint instruments, as this will ensure no time is wasted when scanning for instruments. If you want to keep it simple, just name the folder “Soundpaint”
STEP 2: Click “Manage library & part directories” from the dropdown menu in the top left corner of Soundpaint.
If you’re on a new computer, you will need to sign in with your access key first.*
STEP 3: Click “Add Directory” and select the folder where you moved your instruments on the new drive.
STEP 4: Click “Full Rescan”
THAT'S IT!
You're up and running with all of your instruments again.
*You can only use Soundpaint on up to 2 computers concurrently. If you did not log out of Soundpaint on an old computer and you can no longer access it, you can click the “End All Sessions” button on the profile tab of your account page.
